Taj Mahal

Taj Mahal, “The Crown of Palaces” as it is translated, inspired this piece. The black-haired girl dressed in colorful dress looks out of a richly crowned window onto the jewel of architecture. It is a clear, starry night. There is no one on the path to the palace. The painting is meant to remind the viewer to catch a moment and meditate on the vastness of time and space, as well as the beauty of the place we call home. The girl looking out is in wondrous admiration of this rich sight. From our perspective, the view is equally rich as we can see more than the palace in this vertical artwork.
